Prom Season
That season is upon us once again. Well, almost. But it’s never to early to start. There’ll be elaborate schemes and signs created in hopes of wowing that special person to agree to go with you. That’s right, it’s prom.
Now there are many things that go into the preparation of prom. The transportation, the nails, the hair, the make-up, and let’s not forget: the dress. If you’re anything like me, you haven’t even begun to look for one yet, but you have that nagging in the back of your head telling you that you should start. That being said, it’s overwhelming- there are SO many places that offer great deals and come highly recommended. To help narrow that down, I’ve created the following list of places that I’ve heard are the best:
David’s Bridal, Manchester CT
David’s Bridal is located in Manchester, CT, about 45 minutes from Colchester. They offer dresses of all kinds including petite and plus size, ranging in price anywhere from under $150 to over $350, making them an affordable and closeby option.
2. Atiana’s Boutique, Milford, CT
Atiana’s Boutique is located in Milford, CT, roughly an hour away from Colchester. They are slightly more expensive than David’s Bridal , the lowest being a little under $200 and the highest hitting the thousands. That being said, they have a large variety and are a spectacular option to keep in mind.
3. Macy’s, Waterford, CT
Yes, you read that right. Macy’s, with the closest one just 20-30 minutes from Colchester, has a surprisingly good selection of prom dresses for the season . The prices range anywhere from a little above $50 to above $500. While it may not be the first place that you think of for prom dresses, it is certainly a practical option to keep open.
4. Nordstrom/Lord and Taylor, West Hartford, CT
Located in the Westfarms Mall Nordstrom and Lord and Taylor also have a variety of dresses in varying prices ranges. Everywhere from $50 to $1,000, there is something for everybody, and it’s only about 40 minutes away from Colchester.
5. Red Door Boutique, East Hampton, CT
The Red Door Boutique is located in East Hampton, just 15 minutes from Colchester. While they don’t list their prices on their website, many people have reported that they have many high quality options although they fare on the expensive side they are a little on the expensive side.
