As the school year comes to a close, teachers begin assigning summer homework for the following year! It is crucial that you attend summer homework meetings so you know what you need to complete over the summer. Here are some quick tips to make your summer homework a breeze.

  1. Buy summer reading books used of off Amazon. This can be done by selecting “see all buying options” on the Amazon webpage of the book you need. You can also ask students who have taken the class before if they will sell the book to you. Many assigned summer reading books also can be borrowed from Cragin Library.

  2. Look at the assignments before school ends and ask teachers any questions you may have. You can also email them over the summer with questions!

  3. Start reading sooner than later! Reading continuously throughout summer vacation will ease your stress in the week before school starts and will make reading much more enjoyable.

  4. Look over writing assignments prior to reading the material to allow yourself to ponder upon it. Use sticky notes to mark key points and/or evidence in books to support your writing.

Regardless of when you complete your summer assignments, it is important that you just get them done to the best of your ability. You will be starting out on the right foot with your new classes and teachers.

Enjoy your summer vacations!
