February 9, 1934 - The Balkan Pact is Signed, Forming the Balkan Entente

Following the aftermath of World War One, with the Balkan nations facing internal minority tensions and external territorial claims (Turkey, Greece, Romania, and Yugoslavia) agreed to a military alliance to preserve peace in the region. However, political intrigue was still a dominant factor in the region, and the entente disbanded in 1938. In World War Two, of the nations that had been part of the pact; Yugoslavia would be occupied by the Axis, Romania would be in the Axis, Greece would be invaded by Italy, and Turkey would be neutral.
