Bacon vs. Lyman JV Volleyball Game

On October 2, 2018 in the gymnasium of Bacon Academy, there was a battle -- a battle that was lost and won in sweat and determination. One team triumphed while another took the loss. None were bestowed mercy, and none were ready to be acquainted with defeat. And you can watch it live whenever there’s a junior varsity home game here at Bacon Academy High School.

So on October 2, the junior varsity teams for volleyball at Bacon Academy and Lyman High School went head to head at 4:00 p.m. The win was not ours to take, and the score added to the first set amounted to a score of 12 to 25 in Lyman’s favor. During the second set, it came to a close call but sadly, Lyman won both sets with a score of 25 to 20. Though we were unable to take the victory, teammates on the team say that they did okay, but that they could still work on some things so they might take the dub next game. The team believes that there is always room for growth and improvement. Jamie Greene, athlete and teammate on the girls’ JV volleyball team stated that, “I’d say we aren’t as strong in communicating with each other and we need to work on defensive rotations.” She says that, “compared to our last game, we improved tremendously.” This goes to show that though they may not have succeeded in winning the game against Lyman this game, they will continue to practice and get better, and it was a win for Bacon and the team in the sense that they had improved from previous games.

Go support your JV volleyball team during their last home-games on October 23 and October 25! Admission is free and seats in the bleachers are always open to accept more fans to cheer on our BA volleyball girls!
