A Q&A With Ms. Hupfer
Miss Hupfer is a new math teacher at Bacon Academy. She is excited to share her knowledge with her students. She is a fun, loving, bubbly, and caring teacher who wants to make a difference. I asked her a few questions to get to know a little bit more about her.
1. “Why did you decide to become a teacher?”
“I became a teacher because I love helping people understand something they didn't understand before. I live for that ‘ah ha’ moment.”
2. “If you couldn't be a math teacher, what other subject would you teach and why?”
“I definitely would be a science teacher. I think I not-so-secretly wish I was a science teacher. I decided to go with math over science because I was surrounded my whole life with tons of passionate science teachers, and a lot of not-so-passionate math teachers. I decided to try to even the balance more.”
3. “What is the most rewarding part of being a teacher?”
“Definitely the most rewarding part of teaching is the ‘ah ha’ moments. It's when all of a sudden, something clicks with a student. To know that I helped with that is an amazing feeling. Having summers off isn't too bad either.”
4. “What do you find most interesting about math?”
“I love how creative math can be. Math is all about patterns and understanding how they work. Everything is math. It helps us understand all that is around us.”
