Movie Review for Venom

Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock starred in the newly released movie Venom. Its debut earned Sony $80 million dollars, which leads to the possibility of a Venom 2. The character Venom was suggested by a fan to Marvel for Peter Parker(Spider-Man) to have a black costume. It was later revealed in the third Marvel Spider-Man movie that the black suit was an alien organism that had attached itself to the suit, unbeknownst to Peter Parker. The organism had manipulated Spider-Man into committing crimes and he later shed the suit for fear of committing more crimes. In Venom, the movie delves deeper into the past of the organism on the suit. In the movie, a scientist by the name of Riz Ahmed finds thousands of these organisms on a comet on the way back from a research mission into outer space and brings a few samples back to Earth. He later began to call these organisms “symbiotes” for their ability to fuse with a host. If the host was not a good match, the symbiote would kill it.

Eddie Brock, the main character, is a former reporter who would expose crooks and “bad guys”. He was fired for attempting to expose Riz Ahmed for conducting human trials with drugs that were not ready and causing multiple deaths. After hearing about human trials with symbiotes from an inside source, he goes to investigate. However, in the process of trying to expose a mad scientist, he came in contact with a symbiote and became its host. This symbiote’s name is later revealed as Venom. Eddie Brock fights with himself in preventing Venom from taking over his entire body, until he accepts the bond after learning about the symbiotes and what the other symbiotes want with Earth. Brock is then pulled into an attempt to prevent the possible doom of the entire planet on top of taking down Riz Ahmed’s company.

If you want to see how the world gets saved, or not, you have to see this movie.
