Trump Wants to Ruin Our National Forests

The Trump administration is currently trying to conduct a large logging project in our country’s largest national forest, the Tongass. The Tongass, which is located in Alaska is home to 77 watersheds in which the Alaskan salmon live in. There are over 17,000 miles of creeks, rivers, and lakes in which the salmon inhabit, with “pristine” quality. The Tongass has been protected by legislation from logging and construction for several decades. The presidential administration would like to lift the ban on logging and construction and open up the Tongass to a large logging project. Opening this protected forest would damage the rare and precious ecosystem that is the Tongass.
